This past weekend, Windermere School's Elleray Campus welcomed back alumni from across the decades for a truly memorable Open Morning. From former students who left the school as recently as last year to those who were with us more than 60 years ago, the event was a wonderful celebration of shared memories, laughter, and friendship.

With Stannites ranging from ages 18 to 85, the Open Morning was filled with a beautiful sense of community and nostalgia. Walking through the halls of the Elleray Campus, now being prepared for its upcoming transition, alumni took a trip down memory lane, reflecting on the experiences that shaped their time at Windermere School. There were smiles, hugs, and plenty of laughter as old friends reunited and recounted tales from their school days.

A highlight of the morning was the gathering in the school hall, where we displayed a range of photographs spanning generations of students. Many were eager to spot themselves or their friends in these images, sparking wonderful conversations about how Windermere School had evolved over the years, while still holding onto the heart and soul that made it a special place for everyone.

While the Open Morning was a chance to reminisce, it also marked a pivotal moment in Windermere School’s history, as we prepare for the next phase with the sale of the Elleray Campus. The event brought to life the importance of the Stannite community—alumni whose experiences and shared values continue to shape Windermere School today.

We are also offering Stannites the chance to contribute to our special "Washing Line of Memories." This unique project will display old school uniforms alongside photographs and stories from alumni, celebrating their achievements and inspiring the students of today. We’ll be sending out a Microsoft form where you can upload photos and share your journey since leaving Windermere.
