At Windermere School, we believe that talent, ambition, and potential should never be limited by financial circumstances. The Stannite Bursary Fund exists to provide life-changing opportunities for pupils who might not otherwise be able to experience all that our school has to offer.

One such pupil is Ari, a proud Stannite whose journey was shaped by the generosity of bursary supporters.

"As I came to the end of my primary education, my dad passed away in an accident, leaving my mum to manage on her own. Together, we decided that Windermere School was the right place for me to pursue my love of science and learning, and to grow in confidence and courage—but without a bursary, this would have been unmanageable on a single income."

Thanks to the bursary fund, support from family, and personal determination, Ari was able to spend six years at Windermere School, completing GCSEs and the IB Diploma. Today, Ari has channelled this foundation into an inspiring career as a hydroinformatics engineer, designing solutions for flood forecasting and water management. Based in Cornwall, Ari continues to embrace adventure—whether running, surfing, or volunteering for mountain and cave rescue teams.

"The education, confidence, and friendships I developed at Windermere School are fundamental to who I am now, and I'm incredibly grateful for this support."

Ari’s story is just one example of the incredible impact a Windermere School education can have. By supporting the Stannite Bursary Fund, you can help more pupils like Ari unlock their potential and thrive.
